Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of HuntHub — accounts, teams, acceptable use, subscriptions, cancellation, liability and Danish governing law.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and us about your use of HuntHub — the mobile apps for iOS and Android, the HuntHub website, and the team administration area. By creating an account, joining a team or otherwise using HuntHub, you accept these Terms.

If you do not accept them, do not use HuntHub. If you are accepting them on behalf of a hunt team, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that team.

How we handle personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

2. Who you are contracting with

HuntHub is operated by Simon Elhøj Steinmejer, an individual established in Denmark. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Simon Elhøj Steinmejer, and “you” means the individual using HuntHub.

  • Simon Elhøj Steinmejer
  • Gadelandet 20A, 3. tv., 2700 Copenhagen, Denmark
  • support@hunthub.dk

3. Who may use HuntHub

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create a HuntHub account. HuntHub is not designed for or directed at children.

You must also be legally permitted to use HuntHub where you are. Nothing in HuntHub grants you a right to hunt, to carry a firearm, or to enter land.

4. Your account

  • Give accurate registration details and keep them up to date. Your fellow members identify you in the feed, the chat and on the map by what your profile says.
  • Keep your password and any device access confidential. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • One account is for one person. Do not share it, sell it or let someone else use it.
  • Tell us at support@hunthub.dk as soon as you believe your account has been compromised, so we can help you secure it.

5. Teams, membership and administrators

HuntHub is organised into closed, invite-only teams. You join one by accepting an invitation code from an administrator, and you belong to exactly one team at a time. Everything you post is shared inside that team.

What an administrator can do

You should know what the administrators of your team are able to do and see before you join. An administrator can:

  • Invite new members and revoke outstanding invitations.
  • Remove a member from the team.
  • See the member list, including each member’s profile email address and any phone number that member has chosen to add.
  • Rename the team.
  • Create, edit and delete hunting areas and boundaries on the map.
  • Delete any marker on the team’s map, including one placed by another member, for moderation purposes.
  • Manage the team’s subscription, billing and plan.

Being removed from a team ends your access to that team’s feed, chat, calendar and map immediately. Content you already posted stays with the team and remains attributed to you unless you delete it or delete your account.

We are not a party to the internal affairs of your team. Disputes about membership, moderation decisions or who should be an administrator are for the team to resolve.

6. Acceptable use

When you use HuntHub, you agree not to:

  • Post content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or that infringes anyone’s intellectual property or privacy.
  • Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your identity or your role in a team.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to another team, another member or another account, or to circumvent the boundaries between teams.
  • Scrape, crawl, bulk-export, reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise probe the service beyond ordinary use.
  • Interfere with the service or its infrastructure, for example by overloading it, disrupting it, or introducing malicious code.
  • Use HuntHub to plan, carry out, conceal or coordinate illegal hunting, poaching, trespass, or any other unlawful activity.
  • Use another member’s live position to follow, monitor or harass them.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that breach this section.

7. HuntHub is not a safety device

Read this section carefully. It is the most important one in this document.

HuntHub is a coordination tool. It is not a safety device, not an emergency system, and not a firearms-safety system. It is not certified, tested or designed for any purpose on which someone’s safety depends.

The positions shown on the map may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete or entirely absent. Among the ordinary reasons this happens:

  • GPS error, which in wooded or hilly terrain can be substantial.
  • Loss of mobile coverage, which is common exactly where hunting takes place.
  • A member closing the app or switching away from it — HuntHub does not track anyone in the background.
  • A flat battery, a powered-down phone, or a device left behind.
  • A member who has not granted the location permission, or who has switched sharing off.
  • Downtime or degradation of our service or of a third-party service we depend on.

You must never rely on HuntHub as your only means of knowing where another hunter is. You must never treat the absence of a position on the map as evidence that nobody is there. An empty patch of map means nothing at all about who is standing in it.

You remain solely responsible for safe firearm handling, for identifying your target and what lies beyond it, and for complying with every applicable hunting, firearms, trespass and land-access rule where you are. Nothing HuntHub displays relieves you of that responsibility, and nothing in it should ever be treated as permission to take a shot.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post to HuntHub — posts, images, comments, chat messages, calendar entries and map markers.

To be able to show your content to the people you intend it for, we need a licence from you. You therefore grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, adapt for technical purposes such as image resizing, and display your content — limited to what is technically necessary to operate HuntHub for you and for the members of your own team, and to keep routine backups. We acquire no right to publish your content elsewhere, to license it onward, or to use it for marketing.

The licence ends when you delete the content or delete your account, except that copies may persist in routine backups until those rotate out.

You are responsible for what you post and you confirm that you hold the rights needed to post it. Administrators may delete any marker on their team’s map, and we may remove content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.

9. Plans and subscriptions

Every team is on a paid plan, chosen when the team is created, with a free trial period before the first charge (see below). The plan determines both the number of member seats and the number of concurrent guest passes available to the team.

  • Paid plans are bought on this website through Stripe Checkout. There is no purchase inside the mobile apps.
  • You choose a monthly or an annual billing interval, and you pay the price shown at checkout before you confirm.
  • Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. You are not charged until the trial ends.
  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until it is cancelled.
  • The seat limit is enforced when a new member is accepted into the team. A team that has reached its seat limit cannot add another member until a seat is freed or the plan is upgraded.
  • The subscription belongs to the team and is managed by its administrator, who is responsible for payment.

We may change our prices. A change never applies to a billing period already paid for, and we will tell you before it takes effect for your next renewal so that you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.

10. Cancellation and what happens if a subscription lapses

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; until then the team keeps its paid plan and its full seat limit.

The read-only state

If a subscription lapses — because payment is past due or unpaid, because it has been cancelled, or because a checkout was started and never completed and has now expired — the team enters a read-only state. In that state:

  • Every member and administrator can still sign in and read everything: the feed, the chat, the calendar and the map.
  • Creating new content is blocked — new posts, comments, chat messages, hunts, RSVPs, map markers and areas.
  • Deleting existing content still works, so nothing you have written is trapped behind a payment.
  • Restoring billing lifts the read-only state; nothing is deleted while it lasts.

A subscription that is in its trial period, or that has been paused by us, is not treated as lapsed and does not trigger the read-only state.

11. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer, Danish and EU consumer law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal when you buy a digital service at a distance. The period runs from the day the subscription contract is concluded.

By starting your subscription and using HuntHub straight away, you ask us to begin performance during the withdrawal period and you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been fully performed. Where performance has begun but is not complete, you may still withdraw and pay a proportionate amount for what you have already used.

To exercise the right, send an unambiguous statement to support@hunthub.dk before the 14 days are up. You do not need to give a reason. We will refund what is due without undue delay, using the same means of payment you used.

12. Refunds

Outside the right of withdrawal above, payments for a billing period that has already started are generally not refundable. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period, and the team keeps its paid plan until that period ends.

We would rather resolve a genuine problem than stand on a policy. If something has gone wrong — a duplicate charge, a plan you never used, a fault on our side — write to support@hunthub.dk and we will look at it. Any refund outside your statutory rights is at our discretion.

Nothing in this section limits your mandatory rights as a consumer under Danish law.

13. Availability and changes to the service

HuntHub is provided on an as-available basis. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we give no uptime guarantee.

We may add, change or withdraw features as the product develops. Maintenance, upgrades, and outages at the third-party services we depend on — hosting, database, map and payment providers — can interrupt HuntHub. Where we can foresee significant planned downtime, we will try to give notice.

If we ever discontinue HuntHub entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your content before the service closes.

14. Ending this agreement

You can stop using HuntHub at any time. To delete your account permanently, open the app, go to Profile and choose Delete account; this removes your account and the content described in our Privacy Policy, and it cannot be undone.

If you are the administrator of a team, you must first hand the team over to another member or wind it down, so that a team is never left without an administrator while its members are still using it.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or applicable law, or where we are required to by law. Except where a breach is serious or a suspension is legally required, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. Where an account is terminated for cause, no refund is due.

Sections 8 (as to licences already granted for content still hosted), 12, 15, 16 and 17 survive the end of this agreement.

15. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HuntHub is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any location data or map data shown in the app.

Map data, aerial imagery and geocoding are supplied by a third party and may be incomplete or out of date. Areas and boundaries drawn in HuntHub are drawn by team administrators, not by us, and they are an aid to coordination only. They must never be used to determine a property boundary, a land-access right, a hunting right or a lease boundary. Consult the authoritative land register and the landowner instead.

Nothing in this section affects rights that a consumer has under mandatory Danish law and that cannot be excluded by agreement.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, loss of goodwill, loss of expected savings, business interruption, or loss or corruption of data, however caused.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with HuntHub is limited to the amount actually paid to us for the service in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Where nothing has been paid to us, our aggregate liability is limited accordingly.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, liability under the product-liability rules, and any liability under mandatory Danish consumer-protection law.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Danish law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Disputes are to be brought before the Danish courts.

If you are a consumer resident in another EU/EEA state, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law entitles you to.

A consumer may also complain to the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority’s Centre for Complaint Resolution (Center for Klageløsning) and, where applicable, use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms as HuntHub develops or as the law changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.

We will announce a material change in the app and on this website before it takes effect. Continuing to use HuntHub after a change takes effect means you accept the amended Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using HuntHub and, if you wish, delete your account. Where a change materially disadvantages a paying subscriber, it takes effect at the next renewal, not during a period already paid for.
