Delete your HuntHub account
How to delete your HuntHub account and your data, what is deleted, and what we are required to keep.
1. About this page
HuntHub is developed and operated by Simon Elhøj Steinmejer, an individual established in Denmark, who is also the developer named on the App Store and Google Play listings. This page explains how to delete your HuntHub account, exactly what data is deleted with it, and what we are legally required to keep.
2. How to delete your account
You can delete your own account from inside the app. You do not need to contact us and you do not need our permission.
- Open the HuntHub app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the Delete account? dialog.
Deletion happens immediately, and it cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore the account afterwards.
If you are an administrator of a team
You cannot delete your account while you are the administrator of a hunt team, because that would leave the team without an administrator and lock its other members out of their own content. The app tells you if this applies to you.
Both ways out are on the web rather than in the app. Go to hunthub.dk, sign in with the same account, and open Settings in the side menu. From there you can either:
- Transfer the team to another member. They become the administrator and you stay on as an ordinary member. The team and everything in it is left intact.
- Delete the team. This removes the shared calendar, the map, the feed and the group chat for every member, not only for you, and it cannot be undone.
If the team has a paid subscription, cancel it on the same page first — transferring and deleting become available once the subscription is set to end. When you are no longer an administrator, you can delete your account from the app as described above.
3. If you no longer have the app installed
Email support@hunthub.dk from the email address on your HuntHub account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm that the request comes from the account holder and then delete the account for you. We respond within one month, as required by GDPR Article 12(3).
4. What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently deletes, from the live service:
- Your login credentials — your email address and your hashed password.
- Your profile — display name, email address, phone number and avatar image.
- Your membership of your hunt team, and your role in it.
- Your feed posts, and your comments and likes.
- Your group-chat messages.
- The hunts you created in the shared calendar, and your RSVPs to other hunts.
- The map markers you created.
- Your last stored position on the live map.
5. What is kept, and for how long
Image files attached to posts and map markers
Your posts and markers themselves are deleted, so these images stop appearing anywhere in HuntHub. The underlying files may remain in our file storage after deletion. If you want them permanently erased as well, email support@hunthub.dk and we will remove them.
Subscription and accounting records
If your team held a paid plan, these are the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, the subscription status and the billing period, and they contain no card details. Danish bookkeeping law requires us to retain accounting material for five years from the end of the financial year it belongs to. This retention is a legal obligation and survives deletion of your account.
Routine backups and server logs
Deleted data may persist for up to 7 days in automated database backups and infrastructure logs before those rotate out. It is not restored into the live service.
None of the data described above is used to identify you as a HuntHub user, to contact you, or for any purpose other than the one named.
